Rehabilitation Services

The purpose of rehabilitation services is to restore a patient’s physical, sensory, and mental capabilities that were lost because of illness, injury, or disease to the fullest extent possible. In some cases, rehabilitation includes training the patient to compensate for deficits that cannot be reversed. Most hospitals, medical centers, and home health care programs offer rehabilitation. (See Assisted Living under Housing for Seniors, Home Health Care, and Hospitals and Medical Centers.)
