Services: Anyone who needs long-term care services can find out which services are available and affordable from the State of Maine Long-Term Care assessment through a telephone screen called the Medical Eligibility Determination (MED). The state requires this assessment. There is no charge for this service which can be in a home, hospital, or nursing home room. The nurse will explore what tasks you can do by yourself, what kinds of help you need, who may be able to help, your income, etc.
