Services: The University of Maine Extension is a “doorway to University of Maine expertise.” For more than 100 years, they’ve been putting university research to work in homes, businesses, farms, and communities throughout Maine. The educational programs are varied and focus on agriculture; business and community; food and health; garden and yard; home, family, and youth; insect pests; plant diseases; pesticide safety; natural resources; and safety preparedness.  The Co-operative Extension Service also offers programs on pre-retirement planning, aging relatives, cooking for 1 or 2, and nutrition. There is a volunteer program.
